Liquid-crystal laser beam visualizers of mid-infrared range
«PhotonTechSystem» LLC offers laser beam visualizers of the IR5 series. Visualizers are based on liquid crystal films. Visualizers can visualize laser radiation of spectral range 1.5- 13+ µm.

Detection area of visualizer is the thin layer of thermochromic liquid crystals. Laser radiation changes the temperature of the layer. This leads to a change in the color of the film.To restore the detection area after exposure to a laser beam, you need to place the visualizer on any flat surface (for example an optical table) for several minutes. Recovery of the detection area after exposure to high power lasers may take more time. Sometimes the color change may appear irreversible at room temperature. In this case, you need to place the visualizers in a refrigerator at 0 to 4 °C for a few minutes to accelerate recovery.The size of spot on visualizers will be varied by depending on the power of beam.

The visualizer IR5-1 is recommended for use at room temperature from 20 to 24 °C. The visualizer IR5-2 is recommended for use at room temperature from 25 to 30 °C.
